Tools for real work.

We build software around the way people actually work. Fliteplan is a live project planner built with and for Muir Cove Consulting. Touchplan is our own 3D and XR visual planning tool for sites. Workit is a field app built for Roscoe Construction, shown here as an example of where a Digital Readiness Session can lead. Our Community GPL products are free for anyone to use and adapt.

Fliteplan

Fliteplan, for Muir Cove Consulting.

Fliteplan is a live, drag-and-drop project planner. Lay tasks out on a timeline, link them with dependencies that move the plan for you, put the right people and resources against each one, and work on it together in real time. Built with and for Muir Cove Consulting, it's currently used internally by their team and isn't available to buy.

What Fliteplan is

A plan that moves when your programme does.

Most plans go stale the moment a date slips. In Fliteplan, tasks sit in swimlanes on a timeline and are joined by dependencies, so moving one task moves everything that relies on it. Everyone on the board sees each change as it happens, with no reloading and no emailed spreadsheet versions.

Features

Everything a programme needs, on one board.

Dependencies that do the work

Hard links push downstream tasks forward when a predecessor moves; lock a link and it pulls too. Soft links are advisory and flag conflicts without forcing a move. Lock a task to pin its dates, and any link it makes impossible shows as a fault instead of quietly shifting work.

Resources on every task

Set up people, rooms and stock, add requirements to a task by role and percentage, then drag resources on to fill them. Each resource keeps a running total of days allocated, so overcommitment stands out.

Live, together

Everyone on a board sees edits instantly. Access is set per board (owner, editor or viewer), and team labels can limit who edits particular lanes, tasks or resources. That control is enforced on the server, not just in the browser.

Rebase in one step

When a whole programme slips, move it to a new start date in one action. Durations, gaps, links and resourcing come through untouched, and the change is recorded in the audit trail.

Import from Microsoft Project

Start a board from a Project CSV, Excel or XML export. A guided wizard maps columns, lanes, dependency types and people, and shows you a review before anything is created.

Reports to share

Export a branded PDF or Excel report with a timeline Gantt and a task details table, cross-linked both ways, for stakeholders who don't need a Fliteplan account.

Built for teams

Ready for the whole organisation.

  • Invite-only accounts, with emailed invites and password resets when email is set up
  • An admin audit trail of consequential changes, from rebases to account and team changes
  • Starter templates for an infrastructure programme, a software launch and a marketing campaign, or save any board as your own
  • Board backups you can export and restore
  • Every action works from the keyboard, in light or dark mode
  • A full user and administration manual

Delivered with

Muir Cove Consulting

Fliteplan was built with and for Muir Cove Consulting, specialists in PMO, transformation and risk control. It's styled throughout to their brand book, down to the copyright line on every report, and every new board opens with a one-week Fliteplan Workshops task so the kickoff is on the plan from day one.

For now, Fliteplan is an internal tool for Muir Cove's own programmes. If you're a consultant or organisation who'd use it, let us know. Interest from people doing this work shapes whether and how it becomes more widely available.

Touchplan

Touchplan, from Oddly Digital.

Touchplan is a visual planning tool for desktop, mobile, VR and XR. It takes 3D models or drone-captured photogrammetry and turns them into live, phased 3D environments, so teams can inspect a site, plan it phase by phase, measure it digitally and plan for adverse events before anyone sets foot on it.

Touchplan in a mixed-reality headset: a drone-captured 3D model of a town-centre street floating in a room, with a scaffold volume labelled Scaffold — 4 lifts placed against one building
Touchplan in an XR headset: a drone-captured photogrammetry model of a street, with a four-lift scaffold volume placed against one building.

What Touchplan does

One model, and everyone looking at it together.

One person leads as the Planner and steps through the phases. Colleagues in headsets follow along, and anyone else can watch from a browser.

  • Site inspection
  • Site phase planning
  • Digital measuring
  • Adverse event planning
Touchplan on a phone: the same street model anchored to a printed sheet on a table, marked up with distances, a 160 square metre area and scaffold volumes, on phase 6 of 6 of a construction sequence
On a phone, anchored to a printed QR sheet: measurements, a 160 m² area and scaffold volumes on the last phase of a construction sequence.

From model to phased site

Bring in a 3D model or a drone-captured photogrammetry scan and turn it into a live 3D environment you can step through phase by phase.

Measure and calculate

Measure distances, calculate areas and set the model's scale, with reference objects placed alongside for a true sense of size.

Scaffolding volume calculator

Place scaffolding volumes against the model and calculate how much scaffold a structure needs.

Draw and annotate

Draw directly on the model and label points and features, so everyone is looking at the same thing.

QR anchoring

Anchor the model to a printed QR code, and everyone in the same room sees it in the same place, whether they're walking around it in a headset or holding up a phone.

Every device

Works on desktop, mobile and VR and XR headsets, straight from the web browser.

Workit

Workit, for Roscoe Construction.

Workit is an internal effort-capture web app for Roscoe Construction. Field crews send visual updates into their task lists straight from site, even when the signal is poor, and every completed task produces a stamped PDF as credible evidence of the work, delivered right into the Kanban boards used to manage the project.

Workit isn't available to buy. It's here as an example of the kind of solution a Digital Readiness Session can lead to.

What Workit does

Evidence from site, straight onto the board.

Crews sign in on their phone and see the tasks assigned to them for the week. As they start, update and complete each task, they add photos and comments, and every step is stamped with the time and location. Workit writes that progress straight back to the board the project team manages, so nobody has to retype updates from site.

Starting a task in Workit: photos, comments and a location stamp, captured on site.

Visual updates from site

Start, update and complete tasks on site, with photos and comments at every step, feeding straight into each crew member's task list.

Works on a poor signal

Updates made with no connection are held on the phone and sync automatically as soon as the signal comes back.

Stamped PDF evidence

Every completed task produces a PDF report stamped with photos, time and location: credible evidence that the work was done.

Delivered to the Kanban board

Progress and the finished PDF land on the task in the Kanban board the project team already uses to manage the work.

Community GPL Products

Not everything we build is for sale. Some tools are too important to sit behind a licence fee, so we release them under the GNU General Public License: free to use, free to host yourself, and free to adapt, as long as what you build on them stays free too.

Community products get the same care as our commercial work, and anyone can see exactly how they work, suggest changes or take them in a new direction.

G-Speak

A simple text-to-speech communication tool for non-verbal children and adults. Tap a word, sentence or emoji, or type your own, and G-Speak says it out loud using the voices already built into the device.

  • Six boards (Emoji-Speak, Words, Sentences, Numbers, Needs, Things), each customisable with a press-and-hold
  • Learns the words you use most and offers them as quick-tap suggestions
  • Mood toggles that can shift speaking speed and pitch
  • Print your Emoji-Speak board as cut-out cards for language learning
  • Private by design: no accounts, and nothing ever leaves the device

G-Speak is a free, simple starting point. It isn't a replacement for a communication aid chosen with a speech and language therapist. For a full-featured professional AAC tool, we recommend Proloquo2Go from AssistiveWare.
